Job Description

Position: Administrator Nurse
Department: Nursing Administration

General Summary:

The Administrator Nurse is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of nursing administration within a healthcare facility. They work closely with nursing staff, medical professionals, and other administrative personnel to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Nursing Staff Management: Supervise, develop, and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and maintaining a positive work environment.
2. Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations of nursing units, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of nursing care.
3. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the nursing department budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
4. Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
6. Staff Education and Development: Coordinate and facilitate ongoing training and professional development for nursing staff, ensuring continuous growth and competency enhancement.
7. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as human resources, finance, and medical staff, to facilitate smooth operations and interdisciplinary teamwork.
8. Performance Management: Conduct annual performance evaluations for nursing staff, providing feedback and recognition, and addressing any performance issues.
9. Patient and Family Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate, engaging with patients and their families to ensure their needs are met and their concerns addressed.
10. Regulatory Compliance: Remain up-to-date with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring compliance in all nursing practices.

Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing is required; Master's degree in nursing or healthcare administration is preferred.
2. Licensure: Valid and active registered nurse (RN) license in the appropriate jurisdiction.
3. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a nursing leadersh role.
4. Strong leadership skills: Ability to effectively lead and manage a diverse nursing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders, including nursing staff, medical professionals, and administrative personnel.
6. Strong organizational and analytical skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, analyze data, and make informed decisions to ensure efficient nursing operations.
7. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards: Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations, such as Joint Commission standards, and ability to ensure compliance within the nursing department.
8. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills: Ability to assess complex situations, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to optimize patient care and nursing operations.
9. Proficiency in computer systems and healthcare technology: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software systems.
10. Commitment to continuous improvement: Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in nursing practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the nursing department.
