As a Field Application Scientist, you will support Qiagen customers using their Life Science instruments, with a focus on our sample prep, qPCR workflow and sequencing portfolio. Through technical support, application support, troubleshooting, workflow development and training, you will enhance Qiagen service business and reputation by becoming the customer’s trusted advisor. You will also support our commercial team by delivering specific product line pre-sales related activities in a timely and professional manner.
Performs product demonstrations at customer or company sites.
Prepares and presents seminars to wide array of audiences.
Delivers comprehensive technical training for customers and colleagues.
Collaborates with Sales Representatives to develop technical selling strategies.
Accompanies Sales Representatives on customer calls.
Provides ongoing onsite or remote technical support.
Takes ownership to resolve a escalate customer issues and complaints.
Drives business for the reagent, instrument, training and service teams.
Works in teams to drive success of large projects.
Plans and delivers user group meetings in house or in the field.
Records and reports on customer facing activities.
Actively participates in team meetings.
May be required to perform other related duties.
Keys to Success:
Education background
BSc in Microbiology or related area required
Strong background in Life Sciences, ideally with experience in molecular biology.
Experience
Minimum of 3+ years of laboratory or related work experience.
Experience in a customer-facing role a providing technical and scientific presentations to a variety of audiences.
Strong qPCR experience (instrument, workflow and data analyses)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to tackle practical problems in a timely manner.
Ability to effectively communicate to individuals, groups and large audiences.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge and experience in additional applications, which could include:
Sequencing (Capillary Electrophoresis)
