Job Description

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is an entry-level management role responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Recreation departments. You will work directly with employees to ensure guestrooms and public spaces are cleaned to brand standards, performing regular inspections and overseeing corrective actions. Key responsibilities include managing linen and supply inventories, communicating room status to the Front Desk, and coordinating with the Engineering department for maintenance needs. You will also supervise lost and found procedures, ensure compliance with OSHA and loss prevention policies, and provide ongoing feedback to staff to improve service performance. During the absence of the department head, you will lead the team to ensure both guest and employee satisfaction are maintained within the operating budget.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration is accepted with no prior work experience required. You must have a strong understanding of guest relations and the ability to handle complaints professionally.
