Responsible for processing transactions, handling cash, credit, and debit payments, issuing receipts, and providing a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers in a friendly and polite manner.
Assist customers with product inquiries and provide information about sales, promotions, or store policies.
Resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional manner.
Transaction Processing:
Operate cash registers, scanners, and other point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Accurately process payments, including cash, credit, and debit transactions.
Ensure proper handling of coupons, gift cards, and store credits.
Issue receipts, process returns or exchanges as necessary.
Cash Management:
Handle cash and make change accurately.
Maintain an organized cash register and ensure that the till is balanced.
Prepare deposits and perform cash counts according to company procedures.
Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:
Keep the checkout area clean and organized at all times.
