Job Purpose:
The category manager's duties and responsibilities will consist mainly of managing & developing the product assortment through implementing the respective strategies. A category manager shall be responsible for managing suppliers and ensuring the product flow on time. Price negotiations, product planning, inventory control, quality control, and business agreements shall be under the category manager's responsibility.
Requirements:
A min of 5 years as a category manager in a building materials company with a proven track record of delivering results
Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
Proficient in MS Office
An analytical mind with a strategic ability
Excellent communication and people skills
Understanding of building materials
B in business administration, marketing, or related field
Fluent in English
Arabic language is preferred
Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility of category KPI’s: Sales, margin & stock turnover.
Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for the category.
Manage & develop product assortment.
Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends and requirements.
Continuously Observe Competition to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.
Manage inventory by checking inventory levels, procuring additional stock, and getting rid of excess or unwanted inventory.
Make forecasts for product demand and place appropriate orders to ensure inventory. sustainability that meets consumer demands.
Ensure timely delivery of products.
Attend trade shows.
Handle Vendor Contracts by considering vendor performance, quality, and costs.
Foster trust relationships with key vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of products.
