Job Description:
The successful candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience as a Chocolate Chef, Waiter & Waitress.
1.)Chocolate Chef Duties:
- Create Chocolate-Based Products: Prepare a variety of chocolate-based items including desserts, pastries, truffles, cakes, hot chocolate drinks, and other specialty chocolate items.
- Recipe Development: Experiment with and create new chocolate-based recipes, incorporating different flavour combinations and presentation techniques to keep the menu innovative.
- Chocolate Tempering: Properly temper chocolate for various applications to ensure a glossy finish and a crisp texture.
- Ensure Quality Control: Monitor the quality of all chocolate products, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Prepare Ingredients: Accurately measure and prepare ingredients for chocolate-based dishes, ensuring all components are fresh and high-quality.
- Decorate and Garnish: Design visually appealing chocolate desserts, incorporating decoration techniques such as glazing, drizzling, or adding garnishes.
- Maintain Equipment: Keep chocolate-making tools, mixers, and equipment clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
- Packaging: Package chocolate products for sale or display, ensuring they are presented beautifully and securely.
- Order Management: Ensure that orders for chocolate-based items are prepared and ready for service in a timely manner, coordinating with other kitchen staff.
- Follow Food Safety Standards: Adhere to health and safety regulations regarding food preparation, storage, and cleanliness to ensure safe and hygienic chocolate production.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Inventory: Monitor stock levels of chocolate, cocoa, and other ingredients used in chocolate production. Notify management when supplies need to be restocked.
- Stay Updated on Trends: Keep up-to-date with trends in chocolate-making, exploring new techniques and ingredients to elevate the offerings at the coffee shop.
- Work with Other Staff: Coordinate with baristas, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during busy hours.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the chocolate production area remains clean and organized, following hygiene practices for food handling.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally engage with customers, answering questions about chocolate items or providing insight into how the chocolates are made.
- Manage Time Effectively: Prepare and produce chocolate items efficiently, especially during peak hours, to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Ensure Dietary Considerations: Prepare chocolate items that meet dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free options, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction.
- Follow Store Guidelines: Ensure that all chocolate production aligns with the coffee shop's branding, portion sizes, and pricing.
2.) Waiter & Waitress Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and Welcome Customers: Provide a warm and friendly welcome to all guests, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
- Take Orders: Accurately take customer orders, noting any special requests or modifications to menu items, and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve Food and Drinks: Deliver food and beverages to customers in a timely manner, ensuring proper presentation and customer satisfaction.
- Answer Menu Questions: Provide information about menu items, ingredients, and help customers with recommendations based on preferences.
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Address any concerns or requests from customers during their visit and make sure they have an excellent experience.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and dining areas after customers leave, and ensure the coffee shop remains tidy.
- Monitor Tables: Regularly check on guests to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and beverages and offer additional items when appropriate.
- Assist in Stocking: Help replenish stock of utensils, napkins, straws, or other materials as needed.
- Support Other Staff Members: Work together with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders.
- Handle Special Requests: Accommodate any customer requests for modifications, dietary restrictions, or preferences.
