Role Overview
The engineer will be responsible for managing projects from commencement until final handover. The candidate should be capable of independently handling site execution, manpower, subcontractors, planning, doentation, quality control, cost control and coordination with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
The engineer shall:
• Manage projects from start to completion.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors.
• Manage site labour and daily site activities.
• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Plan and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Control project costs and minimize wastage.
• Coordinate procurement and ensure materials are available before execution.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the project.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain all project doentation, including inspections, approvals, RFIs, site reports and correspondence.
• Track project progress and take corrective action whenever required.
• Take full ownership and responsibility for assigned projects.
Technical Skills Required
The candidate must have knowledge of:
• AutoCAD.
• Architectural drawings.
• Civil drawings.
• Structural drawings.
• MEP drawings (Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing).
As the company does not have a dedicated MEP engineer, the candidate must be able to read and understand MEP and electrical drawings to coordinate site execution.
Software knowledge required:
• Microsoft Project
• Primavera P6
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Outlook
Knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs and measurements is an advantage.
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is preferred:
• Interior Fit-Out
• Specialist Flooring
• Building Maintenance
• Civil Works
• Renovation Projects
• Villa Projects
• Commercial Projects
• Industrial Projects
Role Flexibility
If fit-out projects are not available, the engineer will be assigned to manage flooring projects, building maintenance projects, civil works or any other project undertaken by the company based on operational requirements.
The candidate should:
• Have strong leadership skills.
• Be proactive and capable of working independently.
• Be organized and detail-oriented.
• Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Take complete ownership and accountability for assigned projects.
Employment Terms
• Working hours: 10 hours per day (9 working hours + 1 hour break).
• Company vehicle will be provided for work purposes.
• Accommodation will be arranged by the employee unless otherwise agreed.
• No overtime will be paid for this position.
• The engineer is expected to complete all assigned responsibilities as part of the management role.
• The engineer is expected to maintain professionalism, punctuality and accountability at all times.
Probation & Performance
• The engineer will be on a 3-month probation period.
• Performance will be evaluated based on quality of work, project management, leadership, communication, cost control, meeting deadlines and overall contribution.
• Upon successful completion of probation, employment will be confirmed.
• Salary will be reviewed after the probation period based solely on performance.
• Future salary growth will be performance-based.
Notice Period
• After successful completion of probation, either party must provide 3 months’ written notice before termination of employment, subject to the employment contract and applicable UAE Labour Law.
Offer Letter Clause
By accepting employment, the employee agrees to remain with the company for a minimum period of 2 years. If the employee resigns before completing the 2-year commitment, the employee agrees to reimburse the company AED 10,000 towards visa, recruitment and onboarding costs, subject to the signed employment agreement and applicable UAE Labour Law.
