Job Description

An electrical technician, installs all of the wiring, circuits, and outlets needed to power lights, appliances, and equipment within a building.

He is responsible for troubleshooting wiring systems to make sure they are working properly.

Electrical techs work with building contractors and architects to plan and design electrical systems for new construction.

He is responsible for maintaining already installed systems, troubleshooting problems with it, and making repairs.

The main responsibilities and duties of an electrical technician include:

Reading drawings and technical diagrams to determine the placement of outlets and fixtures
Installing wiring, outlets, and control devices and other electronics equipments.
Maintenance of electrical and control systems
Inspecting circuit breakers, electrical and control wiring, and control device to ensure they are up to code
Identifying electrical problems using specialized tools like voltmeters, cable testers...etc.
Repairing and replacing wiring and equipment using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wire strippers, and conduit breakers
Directing and training fellow workers to install, maintain, and repair wiring and systems
Following state and local building regulations


Candidate Requirements

2-year electrical, technical, or related degree.
Completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
At least 2 years' experience as an electrical technician.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills.
Experience operating hand and power tools, assembling of Electrical DB's and fault-testing equipment.
UAE Driving License is a must.
