Reporting to: Engineering Supervisor
Position Summary:
• The purpose of the role is to take instruction and carry out the day to day maintenance and engineering requirements as directed within the manufacturing operations related to all equipment’s and facilities and support the Engineering Supervisor in his duties. Also carrying out maintenance task in the field within our retail vending operations by being mobile.
Key Accountabilities:
• Receiving engineeri department requests from the manufacturing operatio vending operations and carrying out work required and delegated by the engineering supervisor.
• Maintaining engineering requests and completion of documentation as per company procedures and assist in the preparation of reports for the Weekly, Monthly and Annual Manufacturing and retail vending operations Management Meetings
• Carry out engineering and maintenance works as per the PPM schedule to include:
All Manufacturing Equipment (processing, packing, labelling and detection)
All retail vending operations machines
All Hygiene Entry and Cleaning Systems
Refrigeration Plant
Air Conditioning and Ventilation
Electrical Network
Plumbing Network
Gas Network
Compressors
Nitrogen network
Electrical network DB’s etc.
Machinery MCB’s
Water Chillers and Filtration Plant
All Internal Fabric of the Building
All External Fabric of the Building, Grounds and Boundary
Offices and General Facilities
Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Systems
• Assist in Operator Training
• Take responsibility for safety matters relating to the Engineering Function
• Take an active role as delegated to in Equipment Acceptance trials, Off Site Training (possibly overseas), Installation, Commissioning, Handover, and supplier training.
• Carry out maintenance and engineering work so not to invalidate the Warranty and Guarantees for items of equipment as stipulated in the documentation within the department and the PPM schedule.
• Maintain and be responsible for the security and documentation of all spare parts and engineering too.
• Take part in Customer Familiarity Visits to site as required
• Take part in Third Party Audits for accreditation purposes as required.
Key Tasks
• Carry Out all engineering and maintenance activities in a clean and sanitary condition according to GMP “Good Manufacturing Practices” as per technical Department and BRC guidelines.
• Enforce Employee Hygiene and safety measures according to the GMP guideline and Safety procedure as per technical Department and BRC Guidelines
• Maintain personnel discipline to maintain a positive and healthy working environment according to the company policy and procedures
• Ensure engineering issues do not lead to breakdown in the smooth production operation and retail vending processes preventing a loss in productivity or vending sales.
• Submit a daily & monthly engineering and maintenance reports for work carried out to the Engineering Supervisor
• Report to the Engineering Supervisor any issues pertaining to production and vending operations that will help improve production and vending efficiency and or reduce production down ti in revenue.
• Ensure the safe handling of tools and engineering materials at all stages when working in the production areas and in the field.
• Assuring that operators and workers comply with the safety regulations pertaining to the operation of manufacturing and vending equipment reporting any deviations to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Ensure that you meet with the Engineering Supervisor on a regular basis to discuss any issues
• Take a proactive approach in ensuring standards are met and maintained to comply with GMP guidelines set down by the Safe Food Standard and any other auditing body
• Attend to your duties at times specified by your line manager or dictated by work levels.
• Be available on a rotational basis with the other engineers in the team to ensure 24/7 maintenance cover for the retail vending operations
• Ensure that the current company systems and procedures are followed.
• Inform the Engineering Supervisor of any holiday or leave requests that you may have.
• Agree to carry out any reasonable request by your Line Managers a General Manager
• Ensure you contribute to efficient rates of productivity within your areas.
• Continually review the operations in your area to determine opportunities for cost savings and increased efficiency.
• Assist in ensuring that the departmental cost targets are met.
• To assist in disciplinary investigations as and when required.
