Job Summary:
The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across office and camp environments. This role involves regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of designated areas to ensure a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for staff and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Cleaning
Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including desks, tables, shelves, and equipment.
Empty waste bins and dispose of trash in designated areas.
Vacuum carpets, sweep, and mop floors.
Clean glass surfaces, including windows and mirrors, as well as doors and partitions.
Sanitize high-touch areas such as light switches, doorknobs, and handrails.
Clean and restock supplies in washrooms and pantry areas (soap, paper towels, etc.).
Maintain neat and organized meeting rooms and reception areas.
Camp Cleaning
Clean and disinfect dormitory areas, including beds, bedding, and common rooms.
Sanitize washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities to ensure hygiene standards.
Sweep and mop floors in living quarters and communal areas.
Empty bins and dispose of waste according to camp regulations.
Ensure dining and kitchen areas are kept clean and sanitized, including dishwashing and surface cleaning.
Monitor and replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer in shared areas.
General Duties
Identify and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in facilities.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Comply with cleaning schedules and ensure all assigned areas are completed on time.
Assist with deep cleaning and special cleaning tasks as required.
Work collaboratively with other cleaning staff and report directly to the Cleaning Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in cleaning roles, preferably in both office and camp settings.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor buffers).
Good physical condition and ability to lift or move cleaning supplies and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning.
