Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Accountant role based in Abu Dhabi. The Junior Accountant will assist with daily bookkeeping activities, including recording journal entries, updating ledgers, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves supporting accounts payable and receivable processes, preparing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and following up on outstanding payments. The Junior Accountant will help in preparing basic financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards. The individual will work closely with the finance team, provide administrative support, and coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting queries.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong foundational accounting skills, including knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and basic financial reporting.
Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, including data entry, spreadsheets, and use of formulas for reconciliations and analysis.
Candidates should possess attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to work with high volumes of financial data accurately.
Candidates should possess good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Relevant educational background such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with basic UAE VAT concepts and local regulatory requirements in the UAE is an advantage.
Previous internship or entry-level experience in accounting or finance, ideally within the oil and gas or industrial sector, is beneficial.
