Job Summary:
The Maintenance Executive will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of all equipment, machinery, and infrastructure within the factory. This includes the maintenance and troubleshooting of welding machines, overhead cranes, rolling, shearing, bending, and cutting machines, as well as facilities such as blasting and painting booths. The role also extends to maintaining factory buildings and utilities to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment & Machinery Maintenance:
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair welding machines, overhead cranes, rolling machines, shearing machines, and other production equipment.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance on all machines to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and servicing of critical machinery.
• Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts and tools.
• Ensure equipment calibration and compliance with operational and safety standards.
2. Facilities & Building Maintenance:
• Oversee the upkeep and repair of the blasting and painting booths.
• Manage the maintenance of factory buildings, utilities, and infrastructure (electricity, water systems, etc.).
• Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems, lighting, and other essential services.
• Identify facility improvement opportunities and propose solutions to management.
3. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
• Ensure all machinery and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and implement safety procedures and conduct regular safety inspections.
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to identify and mitigate risks.
4. Doentation & Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment downtime.
• Prepare and present maintenance performance reports to management.
• Participate in budgeting and cost-control initiatives for maintenance operations.
5. Team Collaboration:
• Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance without affecting production timelines.
• Assist in training operators on basic troubleshooting and machine care.
• Liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs and building maintenance services.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment.
• Familiarity with welding, machining, and industrial equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machine manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software (CMMS) is a plus.
• Strong awareness of safety practices and compliance standards.
Working Conditions:
• Factory environment with exposure to machinery noise, dust, and industrial hazards.
• Physical work may be required, including lifting and climbing.
• On-call availability for emergencies and occasional overtime.
