Overview
To foster national and international efforts to formulate and scale up the implementation of effective, evidence-based policies, strategies, interventions and activities on In-house Staff Health and Development, including staff children care and the Integrated Management of Child Health (IMCI) Strategy, aiming to further reduce mortality and morbidity from major diseases and promote healthy growth and development of children and adolescent with the host-communities.

What You Will Do: The inbent will perform the following duties:
Provide strategic technical advice to EM Member States on the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategic plans and operational activities in the area of child and adolescent health including newborn care, early childhood development and school health;
Coordinate with countries, plan, and manage adapting and updating the child and adolescent health-related strategies and guidelines;
Build capacity at the regional and country levels for child health and development programmes, this include (a) assess training needs, (b) develop and finalize relevant training manuals, (c) monitor and evaluate implementation of training plans;
Thoroughly review and conduct in-depth child and adolescent health-related research at the regional and country levels to assess the activities and services at different levels and recommend corrective measures;
Adopt WHO initiatives in child and adolescent health and development by preparing and disseminating technical information materials and doents, developing and updating the technical in the EM with focus on health-promoting schools and school health services:
and Coordinate operational research in priority health problems, doent key achievements and promote implementation of best practices.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competences
Essential: University degree in Medicine and Master Degree in Public Health, Paediatrics, Community Medicine or related field.
Desirable: Doctorate or equivalent degrees in Public Health a Paediatrics.
Essential: At least 2 years of relevant experience within proven international exposure in management of child health programmes.
