Production planner is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. Duties include a specific focus on the materials and goods required in the production phase, ensuring the working space is properly maintained in order to have optimal performance. Performs the short-term and mid-term production plans, with respect to material, personnel and machinery equipment, for plant or production assigned. Provide schedules and status updates to Order Management Lead and development of orders through the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work with management in coordinating and planning production activities to improve runtime.
· Plan production tasks and schedules according to customer orders.
· Develop and review production plan with Managers for approval.
· Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.
· Escalate complex issues to Manager for resolution.
· Regularly analyses order plans, critical timelines from sales operation and double-checks respective resources, and available stocks of materials, parts and components
· Investigate production problem, analyze root causes and provide solutions.
· Communicate production status to Mangers and Customers on regular basis.
· Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations.
· Plan equipment, material and manpower requirements to execute job orders.
· Initiate Material Issuance Request to move the material from Warehouse to Production as per schedule.
· Coordinate with Managers in planning and implementing engineering changes in production lines.
· Plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excesses.
· Monitor production progress and ensure that final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
· Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences.
· Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.
· Maintain the Kanban stand up boards for ongoing projects.
· Interacts with supply chain and logistics, and calculates optimized delivery sequences, to maximize machine utilization.
· Maintain record of net allowed hours (NAH) and create status reports (Planned vs Actual).
· Files and maintains planning documentation in IT systems.
