Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Production Planner to join our Shipyard Fabrication Department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning within the shipbuilding or fabrication industry. This role involves coordinating and optimizing the production process to ensure timely and efficient fabrication of ship components while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Production Planning: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for the fabrication department, ensuring alignment with project timelines and customer requirements.
•Resource Allocation: Coordinate the allocation of resources, including materials, manpower, and equipment, to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
•Monitoring Progress: Monitor production progress against the schedule, identifying and resolving any delays or bottlenecks in the fabrication process.
•Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, procurement, and quality control teams to ensure that all specifications and quality standards are met during fabrication.
•Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of raw materials and components, ensuring timely procurement and minimizing excess inventory.
•Reporting: Prepare and present production reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
•Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency in the fabrication department.
•Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the production process.
Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
•Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning, preferably within the shipbuilding or fabrication industry.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in production planning software and tools, along with strong knowledge of fabrication processes and techniques.
•Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
•Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
•Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
•Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
