A leading Discou Hypermarket located in Dubai area is looking for an experienced Import Buy Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience sourcing a wide range of products, including clothing, shoes, fashion accessories, household items, and cosmetics, from key manufacturing countries such as China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and others. The successful candidate should have a strong network of suppliers and the ability to negotiate the best possible prices for high-quality products.
The role also requires international travel to explore new product opportunities and strengthen supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Source a wide variety of high-quality products, including clothing, shoes, fashion accessories, household items, and cosmetics, from countries such as China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and other key sourcing regions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating competitive prices and favorable terms.
Travel internationally to visit suppliers, identify new products, and keep up with the latest market trends.
Monitor consumer preferences, particularly in labor accommodation areas, to ensure the right products are selected for the target market.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of products and optimize inventory levels.
Analyze sales data and adjust purchasing strategies based on market trends and customer needs.
Ensure that the sourcing process aligns with the company’s budget, quality standards, and timeframes.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Extensive experience as an Import Buyer or Purchaser, preferably in discount centers or gift shops.
*Strong network of contacts in sourcing countries like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and others.
*Proven ability to negotiate the best prices while ensuring high-quality products.
*Familiarity with import regulations and logistics, especially within the UAE market.
*Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends and consumer preferences.
*Comfortable with frequent international travel for sourcing products and building supplier relationships.
*Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple suppliers and product lines.
Preferred Experience:
*Experience working with suppliers from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, or other key sourcing regions.
*Experience in a day-to-day operational role at a discount center or gift shop located in labor accommodation areas is highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management; at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
