Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the UAE construction industry, with a preference for candidates fluent in Arabic. This role is critical in managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures, ensuring value for money while adhering to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses.
Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring project costs are controlled and within agreed-upon limits.
Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.

Tendering and Procurement:
Prepare tender doents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other doentation.
Evaluate tender doents and quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate and procure materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

Cost Control and Financial Reporting:
Monitor project costs to ensure they are within the budget.
Provide regular financial progress reports to project managers and clients.
Advise on any potential cost implications and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Conduct risk and value management and cost control.

Project Coordination:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost estimation and project progression.
Attend project meetings and provide input regarding cost and commercial aspects.
Liaise with clients and consultants to resolve any issues related to costs and contracts.

Contract Management:
Administer contracts, including the preparation of claims and variations.
Evaluate and negotiate changes to contracts, ensuring all variations are authorized and doented.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

Site Visits and Assessments:
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify the quality and quantity of work performed.
Assess completed work and prepare detailed reports for interim and final payments.

Doentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project doentation, including cost reports, procurement records, and contract correspondence.
Ensure all financial and contractual records are accurately maintained and easily accessible.

Compliance and Standards:
Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in the UAE construction industry.
Proficiency in cost estimation software and other relevant tools.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
