Role Overview:
As the Financial Controller, reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for the execution of the financial strategy and management of our organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring our financial health and aligning our financial practices with the company's business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial leadership and strategic planning, with a strong understanding of the technology sectors.
About the job
Financial Systems and Process Improvement
•To be the financial lead in the company-wide implementation of a new ERP system identifying opportunities to enhance automation, standardization, and efficiency in consolidation, reporting, and GL operations.
•Monitor operational and business needs implementing system and control enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to support evolving requirements
•Training and support to finance staff on system usage, reporting requirements, and best practices for consolidation and GL activities.
Consolidation and Financial Reporting
•The consolidation process for the group, ensuring accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities and business units.
•With regional finance teams to gather and validate financial data, eliminating discrepancies and ensuring consistency across reporting entities.
•Intercompany reconciliations and eliminations to eliminate duplicate transactions and achieve a single, accurate view of group financial performance.
•Consolidated financial statements and management reports for presentation to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
•The preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Tax Compliance and Strategy
•All aspects of tax compliance for the group, including income tax, Corporate Tax, V, and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions (with a specific focus on the UAE and GCC)
•The timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including coordination with external tax advisors and authorities to meet regulatory requirements
Financial Leadership and Team Management
•The leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, timely and accurate reporting as well as continuous improvement
•Developing the finance team, providing training and opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization
•Liaise with other departments and senior management to support strategic initiatives, optimize financial performance, and drive business growth.
Preferred Qualificatio
•Accountant with 8+ years of post-qualification experience
•Technology sector experience would be advantageous
•A financial controller with keen attention to detail that prides themselves on taking ownership of the Group financials
•Experienced in leading financial consolidation and reporting with financial reporting tools and software, including ERP systems, BI tools (e.g., Power BI), and Microsoft Excel
•The ability to manage month-end and year-end close processes in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment, meeting tight deadlines and ensuring absolute accuracy.
•Experienced in preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS and leading the external audit process
•Experienced in leading a finance team, the ability to work to deadlines and to be a valuable communicative member of the senior management team
