Job Summary:
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing on-site construction activities, ensuring the completion of work on schedule, within budget, and with the highest quality standards. They will coordinate teams, supervise subcontractors, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain project doentation. This role requires effective leadership, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee daily construction activities and ensure all work aligns with project plans and specifications.
Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Team Coordination and Supervision:
Lead, train, and motivate on-site teams, including laborers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assign tasks and provide direction to team members, ensuring efficient workflow.
Quality Control:
Monitor work quality and conduct inspections to ensure adherence to project standards and specifications.
Report any defects or issues to the Project Manager and suggest corrective actions.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure all safety regulations are followed on-site, and that team members are using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct daily safety briefings and regular safety audits, taking immediate action on any potential hazards.
Doentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, project progress, materials used, and issues encountered.
Prepare daily and weekly reports for the Project Manager, including updates on schedule, budget, and workforce.
Materials and Equipment Management:
Monitor inventory of materials and equipment, coordinate orders, and manage deliveries to avoid downtime.
Ensure proper handling, usage, and storage of materials and tools on-site.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any on-site challenges or conflicts, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
Collaborate with teams to make real-time decisions in response to unexpected issues.
Requirements:
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and project specifications.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Competency in site management software and basic computer applications.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in outdoor environments, including various weather conditions.
