The Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing various trade finance instruments, including Letters of Credit (LC), Doentary Collections, and Bank Guarantees. This role involves working closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and financial institutions to ensure the timely and efficient execution of trade finance transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of international trade, finance regulations, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process and manage trade finance instruments (e.g., Letters of Credit, Doentary Collections, Standby LCs).
* Work with clients to ensure trade doents comply with LC terms and other financial instruments conditions, and coordinate amendments when necessary.
* Collaborate with internal teams (such as Sales, Risk, and Compliance) to ensure seamless trade transactions.
* Monitor and manage trade finance operations, ensuring compliance with UCP 600, ICC rules, and local regulations.
* Coordinate with banks and financial institutions to arrange financing and manage cash flow for trade transactions.
* Maintain accurate records of all trade finance activities, tracking payment timelines, fees, and interest rates.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies in trade doents, providing guidance to clients as needed.
* Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for trade finance transactions.
* Stay updated on trade finance regulations, including AML and sanctions compliance, and ensure adherence to best practices.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in trade finance, banking, or a related role.
* Strong knowledge of trade finance products, regulations, and industry practices.
* Familiarity with UCP 600, ISBP, and ICC rules governing trade finance transactions.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of trade finance software is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
* Certification in trade finance (e.g., CDCS, CITF) is advantageous.
* Experience working with international clients and multi-currency transactions.
* Familiarity with A compliance and risk management practices.
