Key Responsibilities:
1) Journey Planning and Optimization:
- Plan and optimize transportation routes to minimize costs, reduce transit times, and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as needed to avoid delays.
2) Driver Management:
- Schedule driver shifts and routes, ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
- Monitor driver performance, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback and coaching.
3) Customer Service:
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to transportation services.
- Foster strong relationships with customers by ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
4) Safety and Security:
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety among transportation staff.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety training sessions.
- Investigate and report accidents or security incidents.
- High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may require a bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field).
- Proven experience in transportation or logistics, including supervisory or leadership roles.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and systems.
- GCC Experience is an added advantage.
