Job Brief:
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and highly skilled Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen team and manage daily culinary operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional food quality, managing kitchen staff, controlling food costs, and ensuring a safe, efficient kitchen environment. You will work closely with our Executive Chef to execute the culinary vision of our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Daily Operations: Oversee all food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure top-tier quality and consistency.
Manage Staff: Hire, train, schedule, and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen helpers.
Menu Execution: Help develop new seasonal dishes and ensure recipes are followed exactly.
Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage food waste to meet budget goals.
Safety & Sanitation: Enforce strict health, safety, and cleanliness standards (HACCP compliance).
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education: Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or an equivalent professional culinary qualification.
Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume, premium, or standalone restaurant within the UAE.
Food Safety: Certified in Advanced Food Hygiene (Level 3) or PIC (Person in Charge) training recognized by Dubai Municipality (or equivalent UAE authority).
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and lead a diverse, multicultural kitchen team under high-pressure environments.
Financial Skills: Strong competency in food cost control, wastage management, inventory systems, and menu engineering using local UAE supplier networks.
Language: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is highly advantageous.
