Worldwide Zoo Consultants (WZC) is thrilled to partner with an exciting new project in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The project entails the management of a state-of-the-art VVIP private animal facility operation dedicated to the comprehensive care of a diverse range of animal species (both terrestrial and aquatic, domestic and exotic). The collection begins with ungulates, reptiles, insects, birds and fish with plans to expand by introducing primates and other mammals in subsequent phases.
As a Senior Animal Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and welfare of our animal residents. Primary responsibilities include the care and wellbeing of all animals under the facility’s care; maintenance of all habitats; and positive team approach within the projects department.
Animal Care:
• Provide daily care and husbandry for a variety of animal species within our facility.
• Ensure that all animals receive proper nutrition, enrichment, and medical attention as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for our animal residents.
• Compliance with health and safety standards in accordance with local municipality rules and
regulations.
• Provide animal care and ensure habitats meet compliance of facility-specific policies and
procedures.
• Perform daily animal husbandry tasks, health checks, animal behavior observation, and training.
• Perform duties in order to reduce lo, control costs and accurately communicate
expenses.
Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of animal health, behavior, and environmental conditions.
• Assist in the preparation of reports for regulatory compliance and management review.
• Undertake daily operations within the Life Sciences Department to ensure the project is operating
correctly.
• Undertake daily collection and analysis of animal samples and routine checks to ensure all
procedures are adhered to within established parameters.
Enrichment and Observation:
• Assist in the development and implementation of enrichment programs to promote the mental and physical well-being of our animals.
