Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Engineering:
Develop detailed designs for HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) that meet the building’s requirements for temperature, humidity, and air quality.
Design plumbing systems, including potable water supply, drainage, and waste systems.
Perform load calculations to determine the appropriate sizing of HVAC equipment (heaters, air conditioners, fans, etc.).
Select equipment and materials for HVAC and plumbing systems based on performance, cost, and energy efficiency.
2. System Layout and Drawings:
Create technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
Prepare detailed layouts for ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
Ensure designs are coordinated with other building systems, such as electrical and structural, to avoid conflicts.
3. Project Management:
Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC and plumbing systems during the construction phase.
Work closely with contractors, architects, and other engineers to ensure designs are followed and installations meet specifications.
Monitor project progress, ensuring that schedules and budgets are adhered to.
4. Compliance and Standards:
Ensure that all designs and installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA).
Stay up-to-date with new technologies and standards in HVAC and plumbing.
5. System Testing and Maintenance:
Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality, compliance, and safety.
Provide recommendations for system improvements, upgrades, or maintenance schedules.
6. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
Incorporate energy-efficient design principles to reduce the environmental impact and operational costs of HVAC and plumbing systems.
Utilize green building standards (LEED, BREEAM) to promote sustainability in designs.
7. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with HVAC and plumbing systems during the design, construction, or post-construction phases.
Provide technical support to clients and contractors.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience 5-10 years in UAE & well versed with local regional regulations & authorities approval mechanism.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience in HVAC and plumbing design for commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software.
Strong knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC).
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills for addressing system failures or design challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
