JOB : NAVAL ARCHITECTURE
Job Description
As a Naval Architect - Plan Approval Surveyor, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving ship design plans and specifications to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Your role will involve conducting thorough assessments of engineering drawings, stability calculations, and safety features to verify the structural integrity and seaworthiness of vessels. You will collaborate with shipbuilding firms, classification societies, and regulatory bodies to provide expert guidance on design modifications and improvements. Additionally, you will be required to stay updated on maritime industry trends and technological advancements to enhance the efficiency and safety of marine structures. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Naval Architecture or a related field, with a strong background in marine engineering and design principles. Proficiency in relevant software tools and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
•Review and approve detailed design plans and technical doentation for compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
•Conduct inspections and surveys of new ship designs to ensure safety, seaworthiness, and compliance with classification society rules.
•Collaborate with shipyards, designers, and other stakeholders to address design discrepancies and make necessary modifications.
•Provide technical expertise and guidance on structural design, stability, hydrodynamics, and other naval architecture aspects.
•Evaluate and assess stability calculations, load line assignments, and structural integrity of vessels under construction.
•Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports detailing findings, recommendations, and approvals for clients and regulatory authorities.
•Stay updated on industry regulations, classification society requirements, and emerging trends in naval architecture and marine engineering.
•Participate in meetings and discussions with project teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely resolution of design-related issues.
•Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of plan approval processes.
•Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions for enhancing design review procedures and standards.

Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
•Professional certification as a Naval Architect or Marine Surveyor.
•Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and classification societies rules.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in ship design, construction, or maintenance.
•Proficiency in using relevant software for naval architecture and structural analysis.
