Job Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimation Engineer to join our growing team in Ajman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and budget proposals for various residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. The role requires a deep understanding of construction methods, local market prices, and regulatory compliance within the UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Estimation and Costing:
Study architectural and structural drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil works including excavation, concreting, blockwork, plaster, waterproofing, and finishing works.
Calculate quantities and materials required using take-off sheets or estimation software.
Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations and integrate into pricing.
Ensure estimates are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company profit margins.
2. Tendering and Bidding:
Prepare technical and commercial proposals for tenders.
Participate in tender clarification meetings, site visits, and RFI submissions.
Coordinate with the procurement team to obtain competitive quotations.
Ensure timely submission of tender doents as per client requirements.
3. Value Engineering and Cost Optimization:
Recommend cost-effective alternatives to materials or construction methods.
Assist in developing budget-friendly solutions without compromising quality or safety.
4. Coordination and Communication:
Liaise with project managers, consultants, and clients regarding changes in scope or budget.
Communicate with procurement and site engineers for updates and pricing.
Support project planning by providing input on estimated timelines and costs.
5. Reporting and Doentation:
Maintain up-to-date records of pricing, suppli lists, and estimation templates.
Prepare comparative cost analysis and post-tender evaluations.
Track changes during project execution and support in cost control measures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
3–7 years of UAE experience in cost estimation and tendering for civil projects.
Experience in residential and commercial buildings, villas, warehouses, and infrastructure is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of UAE construction practices, regulations, and material costs.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation tools (e.g., Candy, CostX, Bluebeam).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Familiarity with local market rates and subcontractor management.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Knowledge of Ajman Municipality and other UAE approval procedures is a plus.
Language:
Proficiency in English (required); Arabic is a plus.
