Job Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out, joinery, and decoration projects. The role involves reviewing project drawings, specifications, and tender doents to determine material, labor, and time requirements. The Estimator plays a critical role in pricing projects competitively while ensuring profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Study tender doents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications for interior fit-out and joinery projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and technical data.
Prepare and submit quotations, bid proposals, and cost sheets in a timely manner.
Work closely with design and project teams to ensure alignment of estimation with design intent and construction feasibility.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and constraints when necessary.
Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier offers.
Maintain and update cost databases, material prices, and labor rates.
Track project budgets vs. actual costs and support with post-tender negotiations.
Assist in value engineering exercises to provide cost-effective solutions.
Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings when required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
3–5 years of estimation experience in the UAE interior fit-out and decoration sector.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office (especially Excel), and estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Candy, etc.).
Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, joinery, and MEP integration.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of local UAE suppliers and material markets.
Previous experience working on hospitality, retail, or commercial fit-out projects.
Knowledge of Dubai Municipality and other regulatory authority requirements.
