The Fire Safety Engineer position shall be responsible for undertaking the following to NFPA standards:
• Le fire risk assessments for multi company operational sites and company contractor projects, including fixed firefighting and safety systems tests.
• Inspecting and testing all firefighting systems and associated equipment installed at the nominated sites.
• Install hydrostatic testing and extinguisher refilling machines at company Fire Stations
• Conduct fire extinguisher:
inspections,
maintenance,
recharging / refilling (including stored pressure type and Co2)
5 yearly hydrostatic testing
Including safe transportation of fire extinguishers
• Conduct SCBA
SCBA set inspection,
SCBA set maintenance
SCBA cylinder charging
SCBA 5 yearly hydrostatic testing
Including safe transportation of SCBA
• SCBA air compressors, carry out
Inspection,
Maintenance,
servicing of SCBA air compressors (including installation of replacement parts etc)
• Provide services for training fire team members in the use of the equipment for maintaining and refilling the various types of fire extinguishers.
• Provide purchasing, installation and maintenance of smoke alarms in all site operational building company
• Provide fire safety training to new joiners to company and new fire team members
Relevant minimum experience requirements
-Proficient to carry out fire safety training and fire safety audits of buildings
-Effective verbal and listening communications skills
-Ability to deal effectively with people in difficult situations
-Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports
-Time management skills, Respectfulness
-Proficient in English and Arabic
-Proficient in: fire extinguisher inspections, maintenance, hydrostatic testing
- Proficient in: SCBA inspection, maintenance, cylinder charging and hydrostatic testing
- Inspection, maintenance and servicing of SCBA air compressors
Cultural awareness and sensitivity
Ability and willingness to work outside in a demanding environment, often for long hours
Holds a valid Iraqi driving licence
