We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Helper to join our team and assist in the smooth operation of our kitchen. The Kitchen Helper will be responsible for performing basic food preparation tasks, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the culinary team. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, excellent teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting chefs and cooks in food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling dishes.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables.
- Operating and maintaining kitchen appliances, such as ovens, grills, fryers, and dishwashers.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, floors, and cooking equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- Stocking and restocking ingredients, supplies, and utensils as needed.
- Assisting in receiving and storing food deliveries properly and rotating stocks.
- Contributing to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Following proper hygiene and sanitation practices to ensure food safety.
- Cooperating and communicating effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Assisting in the plating and garnishing of dishes as required.
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience as a kitchen helper or in a similar role is advantageous but not required.
- Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques is desirable.
- Understanding of kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively in a team setting.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one.
