Position Overview:
The role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer as a Site Engineer is to oversee and manage the mechanical aspects of construction projects on-site. This position requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and excellent project management skills to ensure the successful implementation, coordination, and commissioning of mechanical systems according to project requirements, industry standards, and quality guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Project Management: Manage and coordinate the mechanical aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
2.Design Review and Coordination: Review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure coordination with architectural and structural elements, compliance with codes and regulations, and alignment with project requirements.
3.Mechanical System Installation Supervision: Supervise and monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on-site, such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
4.Contractor Management: Collaborate with mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, overseeing their performance, evaluating their work, and ensuring timely delivery of mechanical installations.
5.Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to on-site teams, resolving technical issues, clarifying specifications, and ensuring effective implementation of mechanical systems.
6.Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures, inspections, and tests for mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and project requirements.
7.Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure proper coordination and integration of mechanical systems with the overall project design.
8.Doent Control: Maintain accurate records, doentation, and reports related to mechanical activities, including as-built drawings, equipment submittals, test reports, and project progress reports.
9.Health and Safety: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for all on-site personnel involved in mechanical activities.
10.Stakeholder Communication: Liaise and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors, to ensure smooth project coordination and resolve any mechanical-related issues or concerns.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
•Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Site Engineer in construction projects, preferably with a focus on mechanical systems.
•Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
•Proficiency in mechanical design software, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.
•Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
•Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
•Familiarity with mechanical construction methods, materials, and equipment.
•Professional certifications or memberships in relevant engineering associations are advantageous.
