We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter specializing in marble and ceramic tile installation. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various types of tiles, preparing surfaces, and ensuring precision and quality in all installations. The Tile Setter will be responsible for laying marble and ceramic tiles in residential and commercial settings, ensuring a high standard of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:•Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, using plans and blueprints as needed.•Prepare work surfaces by applying mortar, cement, or adhesives, ensuring proper leveling.•Cut, shape, and fit marble and ceramic tiles using hand and power tools.•Lay tiles in patterns or designs, ensuring straight lines and accurate spacing.•Apply grout between tiles, and clean the surface to remove excess grout or adhesives.•Install tiles on floors, walls, countertops, and other surfaces in various environments (bathrooms, kitchens, etc.).•Repair or replace damaged tiles or areas of tiled surfaces.•Ensure compliance with design specifications and client preferences.•Maintain a clean and organized work area, taking care to protect nearby surfaces from damage.•Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and designers on projects.•Follow all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring safe handling of tools and materials.
Qualifications:•Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a relevant apprenticeship or vocational training in tile setting is preferred.•Experience: Proven experience as a tile setter with expertise in marble and ceramic tiles.•Proficient in using tile-cutting tools, hand tools, and leveling equipment.•Strong understanding of various adhesives, grout types, and other materials used in tile setting.•Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with intricate designs.•Good physical stamina, as the job requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.•Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to construction site regulations.
Working Conditions:•May involve working in confined spaces or at heights.•Exposure to dust, adhesives, and other construction materials.•Requires lifting heavy tiles and materials, standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
