E&I Technician (Electrical & Instrumentation Technician)

Job Purpose
The E&I Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems associated with oil & gas process packages, well testing equipment, early production facilities, pressure control equipment, and modular process systems.
The role ensures that all electrical and instrumentation activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Activities
Install, wire, and terminate electrical panels, junction boxes, and control systems.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
Assemble and install cable trays, conduits, and cable support systems.
Perform cable pulling, glanding, termination, and testing activities.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and control circuits.
Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and loop testing.
Instrumentation Activities
Install, calibrate, and commission field instruments.
Perform calibration of:
Pressure Transmitters
Temperature Transmitters
Flow Meters
Level Instruments
Pressure Gauges
Control Valves
Switches and Sensors
Carry out instrument loop checking and functional testing.
Assist in PLC, SCADA, and control system interface activities.
Ensure proper instrument tagging and doentation.
Testing & Commissioning
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
Verify system functionality against project requirements.
Record and doent test results.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Diagnose electrical and instrumentation failures.
Replace faulty components and instruments.
Minimize equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting.
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to company HSE policies and procedures.
Follow Locko (LOTO) requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and instrumentation standards.
Maintain good housekeeping practices within workshop and project locations.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or ITI in:
Electrical Engineering
Instrumentation Engineering
Electronics Engineering
Industrial Instrumentation
Experience Requirements
3 to 8 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation activities.
Experience within Oil & Gas, EPC, Process Equipment Manufacturing, Well Testing, Process Packages, or Industrial Projects preferred.
Experience in commissioning and maintenance of process systems is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Electrical wiring and panel assembly.
Instrument calibration and loop checking.
Reading P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
Control systems and PLC basics.
Cable termination and testing.
Instrument troubleshooting.
Knowledge of hazardous area equipment.
Familiarity with:
HART Communicators
Multimeters
Pressure Calibrators
Loop Calibrators
Megger Testing Equipment
