We are looking for an experienced QS / Cost Engineer with a strong background in construction to manage quantity surveying, estimation, cost control, and commercial activities for ongoing projects in Bahrain. Current Bahrain construction postings commonly emphasize BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, cost estimation, valuations, variations, subcontractor evaluation, and cost monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and cost plans.
Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Prepare project costing based on material, labour, subcontractor, and equipment rates.
Obtain and evaluate suppli quotations and prepare comparison sheets.
Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and expenditure.
Conduct site measurements and verify completed quantities.
Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
Assess variations, change orders, and additional works.
Assist with tender preparation and commercial evaluations.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, variations, contracts, and commercial doents.
Identify cost discrepancies, potential overruns, and cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare regular cost-control and commercial reports for management.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degr in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3–7 years of relevant experience in QS, Cost Engineering, Estimation, or commercial construction roles.
Strong construction background is required.
Bahrain construction experience is highly preferr.
Good knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimation, cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Good understanding of construction materials, labour rates, and local market pricing.
Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and software.
Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Must be currently available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiners are highly preferred.
